From original albums and theater showcases to sculpture, animation, and design, student creativity flourished across both ISB campuses this year. Guided by a passionate team of educators, the Arts program empowered learners to take creative risks, collaborate meaningfully, and express themselves with confidence and purpose.

Across both campuses, the Arts continued to thrive at ISB this year, with students engaging in rich, creative learning experiences through music, drama, visual arts, and design. These opportunities went beyond performances and exhibitions to support personal growth, collaboration, and meaningful expression.

At the heart of the Arts program is a commitment to both process and product. Whether composing original songs, building stage sets, curating a gallery display, or prototyping new designs, students were guided to think critically, work collaboratively, and take creative risks. Performances and exhibitions were important milestones, but the learning that led to them was just as valuable.

In the Visual Arts and Design programs, students explored a range of media and techniques, developing both technical and conceptual skills. Our Middle School Visual Arts Showcase, held during the Winter Arts Fair, provided students with the opportunity to share their creative journeys with peers and families, highlighting their progress and process. The Primary Visual Arts Exhibition in November invited families to experience student work firsthand and hear directly from young artists about their ideas and inspirations. In the Secondary School, DP Visual Arts students presented their final pieces in a culminating exhibition that reflected years of artistic growth.

Design students tackled real-world challenges through product creation, digital media, and film. Our Grade 10 students took their learning to the next level by submitting work to a film competition, where several earned top awards. These achievements reflected not only technical skill but also the ability to tell compelling stories with purpose and originality.

In Music and Drama, students had regular opportunities to share their work with the broader community. From classroom compositions to staged productions, the focus remained on helping students find their voice and work as part of an ensemble. Through electives, after-school activities, and collaborative projects, students built confidence, refined their skills, and gained experience across all stages of the production process.

Events such as the Primary Winter and Spring Concerts, the Wizard of Oz production, and the Secondary Creative Arts Showcase gave students platforms to perform, reflect, and connect. Behind each event were countless hours of rehearsals, workshops, and creative planning, led by educators committed to helping students grow in an environment of encouragement and high expectations.

Of course, these examples only capture a snapshot of the learning, creativity, and collaboration that take place in the Arts at ISB throughout the year. Behind it all is a dedicated team of educators whose guidance, innovation, and care enable students to explore the arts in a deep and meaningful way. The wide range of student work this year—from original albums and theatre showcases to sculpture, animation, and design—stands as a testament to the vibrant learning culture they cultivate.

A heartfelt thank-you goes to our incredible Arts team for their energy, creativity, and commitment throughout the year. They continue to design opportunities that challenge and inspire our students in meaningful ways.

As we look ahead to the new school year, we do so with gratitude for all that’s been achieved and confidence in the continued growth of the Arts at ISB.
